The cryptocurrency market, which has been growing globally for over a year, has added nine new dollar billionaires by 2020.
The price of the most expensive cryptocurrency reached $29,000 on December 31, after falling to a two-day high of less than $4,000 in March 2020. This was a good source of income for high-risk investors.
Despite constant criticism from investors and businesses around the world, the popularity and value of cryptocurrency continue to rise, and by 2020 it produced nine crypto billionaires. Forbes recently released its annual list of the world’s billionaires, including 12 crypto billionaires, nine of whom became billionaires in 2020 due to the rise in cryptocurrency prices.
Top Richest Cryptocurrency Billionaire
The richest cryptocurrency billionaire is Sam Bankman Freud of trading company Alameda Research and derivatives exchange company FTX. His net worth is $8.7 billion.
In second place is Brian Armstrong, CEO, and founder of Coinbase. His total wealth is Rs 6.5 billion.
In third place is Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen with $3.4 billion.
The list was released by Forbes on the day when the world’s cryptocurrency market surpassed $2 trillion for the first time. The total value of the cryptocurrency was 1$ trillion last January.
In terms of market cap, Bitcoin tops the list with $1.06 trillion, followed by Ethereum, Binance Coin, XRP, and Tether.
